mckenzie hall cabot further info

following a request for makenzie hall to prove me debt 2 months ago a letter from cabot has come showing that i signed for a credit card in 2001 and there is a history of the interest accrued.

the debt has never been acknowledged
its over 6 years old
is it with mh now or have they passed it back to cabot?
what power do they have?

also the letter went to my parents where i no longer live it will be carefully resealed and returned as ' no longer at address'

where do i stnd?

    When you say it is 6years old, do you mean that you have not paid anything towards it for 6years?

    If you have paid nothing for at least 6years and they don't have a CCJ against you then they have the power to keep hassling you to request you pay/try to find you. If it is statute barred then you should write to them using the SB templates, that way they no longer have a right to hassle you.

    I would also check your credit file to check they haven't added any entries recently (such as incorrectly updated the default date so it still appears).

    nothing has ever been paid on it

    my credit ratings and fie seemed ok in feb

    Scuse my stupidity but which letter where? Who would the letter go to? Who has it cabot or mh ? I think as they have failed to actually send it to my address ill wait till they manage to send it to me

    You could wait until they find you but if you send that letter then you will not have to pay the debt and will stop them writing to either your parents or any other address.

    Thanks good advice. So I'm right in thinking that due to the fact tjat it has been acknowledged in no way I'm in the clear. doe the letter go to cabot? Do they have it back again?
