If Lib Dems don't form a majority coalition with Con, can Lab-Lib Dem work? Is that possible under the constitution?

The "constitution" is designed to provide one of 2 parties.
Any pacts are just a sideshow designed to hide this fact. Before long, either labour or conservative will be in office*
It's convenient at the moment because it takes everyone's mind off the economic troubles.

They would also have to tap up some of the smaller party's too i'd expect.0

So, they can govern with a minority number of MPs?0

Need every Labour, Lib Dem, SDLP, SNP and Plaid MP to pass any legislation? That's kind of impractical."The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0

If there was something in it for them (extra expenses, concessions etc) every one of them will go for it.
Don't forget........... they are all lying f*cking tieves."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

Constitutionally they can - practically is another story.
All it takes is one No Confidence motion without sufficient support from other parties and back to the country they go. The first opportunity for that would be the Queen's Speech debate later this month. If any party were to try and govern without an overall majority and lose the vote on that debate it would effectively be a No Confidence result since that debate is about their entire legislature plans for the coming year.0 -
Labour n Libs wouldn't have 326 seats between them to win either.
As tre says, Cleggy quoted he would work the the party who won the most seats and would look stupid now if he backed out of that depending on what conditions were made between them.0 -
It will be possible for the conservatives to run a minority government although it would not be easy but labour no too far behind.
But even though i have often voted labour in the past i don't want them in any coalition now because they need to get rid of brown and move on0
