Hi and welcome
From what I can see it doesn't look like Fairfx would count as a credit product. So in a way I would assume it could not really be seen as different to having a savings account.
(As to whether its okay to save for a holiday when on a DMP is a different issue, but maybe you have cut back elsewhere and are going on a really cheap holiday:))A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

If your in a DMP talk to your provider about it.
The provider should be able to say what is and is not credit. As to the holiday we all need some R&R but with interest on debts and creditors can stop freezing interest at any time a holiday probably isn't the best thing to do, can you actually afford it? If you save for a holiday the creditors will known about it.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Not how long you have been on your DMP for or how long it's expected to last but if you're like me and likely to be re-paying debt for the next 15 years or so then you need a cheap holiday every few years. If, however, you're going to be able to debt free in say the next 5 years I'd consider using the holiday money to get there a bit quicker.
Not sure if you've got your hols booked already but there is someone very satisfying planning a holiday on the cheap knowing that others have probably 2 or 3 times more for the same thing. It does take a lot of research though.
I have a Fair FX card for my holiday money and it's not a credit card so there is no problem having one. Also it helps to save up some spending money as you can top it up a bit each month and you know exactly how much you have to spend while you're away. One day I will be debt free and fat free!:grinheart0
