Buying wholesale MP3

Has anyone got any experience of buying wholesale MP3's from China (ones that look like iPods)?

I'm aware eBay has a strict pollicy on these, so you must not mention iPod and clearly state they are MP3's (no brand).

Is it worth importing some of these and selling them on eBay for a small profit?

Check out completed listings and see how others get on. Generic MP3 players go very cheaply, the sellers often have mediocre feedback as the players can sometimes have issues. The competition is fierce and as they cannot be sold as ipods and the name ipods can not even be hinted at the sales also can be quite slow.

There is also an issue that if they look too much like an ipod then Apple get the listings pulled anyway.

Before you sell anything on ebay do the math, what do they sell at, how much will they cost you (don't forget to include all import and other duty), allow a write off for returns and unwanted purchases (business sellers must do automatic returns), then calculate tax and NI and see what the bottom line is.

Uh...you know the MP3 is just the file name, right? Its an MP3 Player that you'd be importing. I assume you do know the difference, but please be explicit when posting. It is obviously impossible to import wholesale MP3's from china, as they're simply a digital file.
