Dresses from China on Ebay question

My friend has just sent me several links for dresses that she loves, from a Chinese seller on ebay. They look gorgeous and are VERY reasonably priced but I can't help feeling she may be buying a pig-in-a-poke:( So I thought I'd ask you very knowledgeable brides on here. Has anyone bought a dress from these people and if so, was it well made and look like the picture and how long did it take to arrive? She hasn't much money and I'd hate her to get stung and so would value your opinions/experiences.
Thanks in advance:T

Theres a whole thread on here dedicated to Landy Bridal, who are a Chinese wedding dress maker. Milly bridal are also recommended aswell I believe. Best to read through that thread.
I refer to....Millybridal.com not to be confused with millybridal.co.uk who are completely different! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

Are millybridal.co.uk a good company to buy from? Their dresses and prices look great and I assume they are here in the UK?0

I know a few people who have been stung by china ebay sellers and a few who have had complete bargains, if you pay via paypal you maybe protected. Leave plenty of time for your item to come. Be prepared you may have to pay customs tax when it arrives in the country. You could always ask for the sellers phone number that way you can bug them by phone aswell as email if you dont feel you are getting anywhere.
My friend brought her wedding dress from ebay US and the seller marked the dress as sample, therefore she didnt pay tax, it was a real bargain a fraction of the price in the shops about $350.0 -
Just a quick update. My friend bought the bridesmaids dresses (£54 each) and they arrive yesterday and they are great. Awaiting the wedding dress now:j
What decided her was a chat she had with a new friend who used to have a p/t backroom job in wedding dress shop and all she did was tidy up the dresses when they came in - ie cut off loose threads, tighten beading etc and she said nearly all the dresses came from abroad.0 -
Oh gosh, this is odd! One of those ebayers has the dress I really, really want...
I'm a bit worried as I've bought 5 dresses from China in the past, three fell apart the first time they were worn, and two were so drastically wrongly sized it was ridiculous!
I don't want to waste money, but I'm wondering if I should take a jab at it - it's so cheap that even if it was awful I could possibly get another one...Make £10 a day challenges - 2014 Jul-Dec - £1911!!!

If you can afford to get another if it goes belly up, then why not. You may get a bargain0
