Bicester Villiage on a Saturday?

I'm thinking about going to Bicester Villiage tomorrow - will it be an absolute nightmare?
I seem to recall someone telling me they had to wait in a queue of traffic outside the carpark for 2 hours before giving up and going home. Is this normal for a weekend?

I live in Bicester, and yes traffic is a bloody nightmare! The problem is there is only one road leading in to both the shopping village and the largest supermarket in town. They were meant to build a road on the other side but haven't.
Your best bet would be to get there early, or even better park in the town centre and walk. Anyone can give you directions and it's an easy 5-10 minute walk. The car parks in town aren't free though, the Bicester Village one is.
Another tactic is to combine Bicester Village with a day trip to Oxford, I see that a lot. The bus from Oxford to BV is every 20 mins, it's a 30 min trip and stops right outside so that can be handy too.0 -
I wouldn't reccomend BV on the weekend.0

I love Bicester Village but hate the queuing to get in; however, last year it was en-route to a caravan park we were staying at with friends. There were some things I wanted at Bicester and persuaded hubby we should stop there on our way home on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. He was not hopeful, what with having a caravan on tow as well, but this proved to our advantage as they ushered us around everyone else and parked us in the coach bays, where he waited with his cup of tea and the paper while daughter and I shopped! Anyone you know got a caravan you can borrow for preferential treatment?!0

Get there early, I got there at opening time recently and the main car park was already full and everyone was going into the overflow carpark.0
