Been using Jim Gaffney, Motor Engineers, Burnfield Road, Giffnock (01416333562) recently for my daughters VW and my Toyota. Has been pretty efficient and prices seem reasonable too.

I took my car for an MOT to nationwide auto on pollockshaws road, which is like a kwik fit chain, and they were awful! Told me my car was a write off, a death trap!
So I took a recommendation off someone at work and all that it needed was a new brake pipe at £80! You never know who to trust eh?
So now I always go to the recommended guy. It's in Renfrew though, Kris & Andy (sorry don't know the name of the garage) 0141 885 0770

Contrary to deadrobot's experience, I have taken cars to Nationwide, Pollokshaws Road for the last 5 years for services and MOT's and found them to be brilliant and extremely competitively priced.:j
