Hey everyone,
Just came home to find an "important notice" from Marston bailiffs, it says that they attended my house at 12.20 to remove goods for sale.
it says the client is HMCS Norfolk and i owe them £585.
pcn / Fines £310
admin fees £75
Attendance Costs £200
I live with my parents and I am on Job seekers allowance and get about £100 every 2 weeks. I cant afford to pay them and I am worried of what is going to happen. I live with my parents and i dont have anything that is worth any money everything here is my parents.
Does anyone know what i can do?
Thanks
Liam

Slow down.
You must have got a parking ticket sometime?
And you should have received a notice of court action following non-payment?
You do need to tell your parents (and any other siblings) that they must not open the door to the bailiff, although he can only take your stuff. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
So the costs are, £310 of unpaid parking fines (how come you didnt pay or dispute this sooner)
£75 court fee for them to get a judgement against
£200 bailiff costs.
The main thing is have the bailiffs been inside the property, if not they cant charge an attendance allowance as they wont have a levy on goods.
You should speak to herbie21 about it as its likely the charges are illegal, you should also notify the bailiffs that you are living in your parents property and have no items of your property inside that could be levied - http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/
If you were unaware of these parkign tickets, and court dates you should see about setting it aside and disputing it, although either way you are going to need to pay the fines and court fee if you did owe the moneyAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Hi thanks for the quick replies, I didnt pay the original ticket because im an idiot i realise paying the £50 fine would of avoided this mess. when the summons came through i was at uni in Leeds so was unaware of it.
They havent been in the house just put a letter though the door, i am going to the local CAB on monday is there anyway this could be returned to court?
Thanks again

You mey be well advised to try and speak to Herbie21 and see if you can challenge the case on these groundsliamcicada wrote: »They havent been in the house just put a letter though the door, i am going to the local CAB on monday is there anyway this could be returned to court?
You need to make sure they do not get in, even if they insist they have to enter the house. Once they get in they can add £100s in fees.
Will be back with more infoIf you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Was this a parking ticket from the council, or a parking ticket from a private firm.
I believe private firms have to get a CCJ for the debt, and this could be set aside as you did not receive the paperwork. Although paperwork would be sent to the owners address so if you lived at uni but were still registered to be living at home i'm not sure on the DVLA stance on this. (Update - DVLA care about permanent address so living in halls for 6 months means it do not need updating)
For council based tickets there is some information to challenge it here http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/parking_about_stat.htm, however in reality you need to give herbie21 a call as it is at the bailiff stage - http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/contact.htmAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Thanks DC for finding the information. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
