It's not really news though is it?

And others since then.
This post was made in August last year and the Pure range have been mentioned umpteen times since then on these boards. It's quite sad that Boots seem to be stopping this now though as I , along with many other posters was quite happy to pay only £1 for these products. I wonder how they found out...?

Your joking right?
People post on the boards here on MSE and then their staff look into these deals and loop-holes and then report it to the media. Simples.0 -

Check out the link in the OP
"Boots initially said it knew little about the find, adding "we are looking into it" when first contacted by MSE earlier this week.
A Boots spokeswoman now says: "Boots UK does not supply Poundland or B&M with stock. We occasionally have excess stock that has been produced for our international businesses, which cannot be sold in our UK stores.
"We believe a small amount of this stock has been diverted into UK retailers and sold without our permission. We have now taken steps to ensure that the stock is no longer available through this route."AKA: PC

It was rhetorical.
But people have been posting about it on the boards for the better part of a year before Boots got wind... Why notify them now?

Boots was first told about the problem at least eight weeks ago, but the products were still on Poundland shelves all over the country yesterday.
Business student Rhys Gregory and his girlfriend Amanda Ward, both 20, were the first to identify the labelling scam.

I never knew about this! So, after this will customers still be prepared to pay full price at Boots for these products. I won't buy something that I now know I could have bought for £1!!!0

As Princess Coupon says - They may well have known about this for a while but were happy to ignore it. Now the media have started talking about it they feel obliged to do something about it.0 -

I have to agree - it made me laugh to read in our local paper yesterday about it, especially when I bought several of the products when it was first mentioned on the £land thread.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0
