credit checks-what can they do with ur details?

forgive me if im on the wrong board, and mods pls feel free to move if so but i was just wondering if i order a free credit check with e.g. experian using my credit card, then cancel before 30 days, can any of the companies that i owe money to use these card details to take payments from or indeed find out that I have a credit card?? i am only a named cardholder, the account is in my partners name but i just have a card for emergencies etc

i dont beleive any other companies will have access to the card details

No - the transaction data is between you and the seller only, just like any other purchase.

In terms of "finding out" about the credit card, in theory they already can if it is listed on your credit file. Howvere this does not mean they can take any payment though as they would still need your permission and security details
