hey folks just wonder what you all were all doing for your headwear (so to speak) for your wedding.
i have very fine hair (for my sisters wedding even keeping the lovely hair slide in my hair was almost impossible without 3 million kirby grips)
i've seen some lovely side tiara's on headbands but they've been really really expensive.
what are you planning for your big day.... just being nosey and wanted to see what everyone else was planning or thinking about?
ohhh i've found a really pretty one that's not that expensive, what do you think?

that is really pretty, have you tryed looking for crystal fascinators instead of tiaras? there are some really pretty ones on Ebay, not that expensive, we bought one for my mum from daydream_wedding_accesories it was really pretty and well made

forgot to say-- the one in the link is on a comb but she put it on a band for us as my mum has really short hair and a comb would keep slipping out0 -
I am still undecided on how I am going to have my hair so depending on the style will depend on what I wear.
I've just had a look on ebay and there are some really lovely tiaras, on combs, clips and headbands depending on what you want. I've also been looking at facinators which when we originally booked the day I totally scoffed at the thought of it. But I have seen some really nice, elegant ones.
I am going shopping in a couple of weeks for my jewelery so I am going to try different things on then. Its hard to know looking online what will suit me when I have never worn anything of this sort of thing before.0 -

thanks for that, there's also a designer that made my sisters jewellery for her wedding so i might see what she can do for the wedding as well, my hair is so fine that anything elaborate will probably have to either be on a band or one of those hair designs that have holes where you can attach it to the hair do with kirby grips.0 -
Gandy - I also have fine hair but managed to have fresh flowers attached to hair combs that I wore..my hairdresser lacquered my hair so much that it was almost solid and the combs stayed in all day. Ask your hairdresser and have a practice before the big day.0

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was looking for ideas & Horace's doo sounds up my street.
I too have fine hair, so I want soemthing to give me a nice look.
I find tiaras really uncomfortable - they seem to put too much pressure on the top of my head & I'm prone to headaches.
I like the idea of having flowers in may hair - but little ones, like on the end of kirby grips or on spirals. Any ideas?0 -
Something like this RainbowDrops?

What kind of flowers have you got in mind?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That's along the right lines Birdie, I'm looking for "natural" country garden style one's if pos, in a few different colours.
Something fairly small that I could put in a row to make a pseudo-tiara maybe.
Sorry if that's vague - I have an idea in mind, but can't find pictures!0 -
Errrr, that's a bit vague! Is there anything on here you can point out to give me a clue??
The tiara idea sounds like a nice one. Have you thought about having something like a flower 'crown' like this? It'll just sit on top of your head so won't be putting any pressure on you. It'll also be a lot less hassle than getting a line of flower clips to sit perfectly on your hair in formation and stay like that all day!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It's not a low cost option but this stuff is truly gorgeous

She often does 15% off sales, and you can go to see her pieces in the studio (you can also send them back if you decide you don't like them).
I bought the leaf hair clip and matching earrings, and was soooo pleased with them. They are something I can and will keep and wear forever0 -

Ooh, I should have thought about Accesorize - some lovely things there, thanks Birdie - I'll go to my local shop to have a look
The idea is to pop them in in the shape of an alice band / tiara.0
