Mortgage - Default

Hi
My hubby and i have just obtained copied of our credit reports and have found that he has a default from T-mobile (we are in the process of disputing this).
Anyway, our flat is currently for sale and we had planned to buy a bigger place, however will it be possible for us to get a mortgage if he has a default.
We have briefly spoken to our own bank (RBS) and they have advised the initial credit check would probably fail, but they could pass this to the underwriters, do you think this would be accepted.
We currently have a mortgage / loan and have never missed any payments. Everything else of our credit reports are ok.

The default is for £280, it was registered about 9 months ago, we have just found out about it.... we are currently disputing it but have settled it in the meantime0

You might have a few options then, depending on the actual figures i.e. property price, mortgage needed, income multiples etc.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
