How do I get started?

Hi everyone
I have been reading with great interest all your comments and would like to contribute.
How do I go about it? Please explain the 'lightbulb' moment. Also, I probably need to come clean with my little debt list. How do I do that?
Any comments? - Pleeeeeeease send them my way!
Much appreciated. Helen :j

Hey Helen. A lightbulb moment is when you suddenly realise you're unable to break the cycle of being in debt leading to being in more debt. It's all too often at the stage where you reach all your credit limits or get denied more credit. You wake up and smell the coffee and realise something drastic is needed before you get in so deep there's no way out.

Whats great about this site is that for people who had their lightbulb moment before this critical stage there's loads of advice as to how to cut down your expenditure and start to eat back at your outstanding debts. And for those who are on the brink, loads of advice as how to cut your losses and get out of the game.

Take a look at the Southern Scouser sticky at the top of the page and then post your SOA! :)

the one thing ive found amazing about this site is the help and generosity given by other posters, ive now got more money in the bank than i normally have at this stage, paid more than i normally would off my bills and im generally feeling much more postive :)

Take the plunge post your SOA and let them pick it apart :)

By the way an SOA is a Statement of Affairs - basically an incoming and outgoing tally that we can have a look at and suggest ways to cut back. Sky and the gym are usually on the hit list!

Take a look at this fantastic thread for more info:

Good luck - we have all been there so don't be afraid!
