I would recomend the Turkish Restaurant in Didsbury

They have a 20% off discount deal before 7pm across the board.

Asian Fusion on Barlowmoor Road in Chorlton - Yum! Basically a curry house...
Princess of Hearts in Chorlton - another curry house - again yum...

Lots of restaurants on Beech Road but now whether they are reasonably priced or not....you could check out Marmalade and I think they do a deal between certain hours.

I recommmend tapas- Casa Tapas is great. As you can mix and match small dishes you can really get good value.

I also recommend the Didsbury Village Restaurant also known as Steak and Kabab. It is realy really lovely and does some great fish dishes as well as the best steaks in town, they also vary their menu seasonally. They do lots of speacial set menu's too.

Check out http://www.manchesterconfidential.co.uk/index.asp?sessionx=IWU6KDy6IpqkNwB6IHqiNwA#1 for offers and also info about set menus, about this restaurant and others. They are also listed in the Hi-Life book, if you are a member you get B.O.G.O.F.s

  • You should get one of the new City Cards, as recommended by paulT in the 'Heaven Sent' message board last week . I got one last week after reading the tip, and it cost me £35.00 for a year through the Barclays staff offer (instead of £55). I work there but hadn't heard anything about it, until reading Pauls tip on using the referral code for Barclays Employees 'barclays06' to save a few extra £!

Anyway, it gives you lots of discount at loads of great places round manchester, mainly bars and restaurants, but also at salons, shops and loads of other stylish places.

You get 30% off at the Didsbury village Restaurant, which looks really nice, and also 25% off at the Slug and Lettuce

The good thing is it's not like a normal discount card, it's actually really stylish and you feel quite cool using it.

I got my hair done (in Didsbury) yesterday and saved £20 by using it, and am going out for a meal tomorrow night so will have saved back the £35.00 in no time!

The web address is https://www.citycardmanchester.co.uk, and It's one of those things that seems too good to be true but so far so good!
  • The Lime Tree on Lapwing Lane (I think) is lovely, also the Lead Station On Beech Road Chorlton is lush too!
