Help

I have reached the point where my family's finances are in such a mess we are worried whether we are going to be able to keep our home. For months now we have been using credit cards to subsidise our monthly income to ensure we dont go over our overdraft but we cant continue like this. We have never missed any payments on anything so have a good credit rating - perhaps too good with the amount of cards we have been allowed to have.

We have totalled up and we owe £96,000 on cards and loans not including our whopping huge mortgage which explains why we have no money.

Where do we start?

We have a small son and since going back to work part time and paying extortionate nursery fees our troubles are only getting worse.

Any advice please.

Emma :(

    Hi and welcome

I would start with working out what you have coming in and going out each month - to do that complete a statement of affairs, http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html then if you post the results on here depending on what it shows we can advise you where to go from there.

    Hi Emma
First thing is not to panic. I know that easy to say but the more you worry the worst it seems. Tixy has asked that you do a SOA.Once this is up there are many people who can give you advice and support. I thought I was the only one in the world that had money issues and I found this site and the insperation and support you get is the best. There are people who can help with credit agreements and there validity to helping save money on the shopping. You can e mail the CCCS team via private messages to get help. The best thing is you have had you LBM (light bulb moment) now things can only get better. Ask anything dont feel silly. We have all been there ,still there! and got the T Shirt. Best of luck and dont worry.DL.
