Q. Itunes accounts are free anyway, aren't they?
A. Yes but you have to put your credit card details in!

Q. Why would I want to do this anyway?
A. For a 2 reasons mainly if you have a son or daughter with an ipod/ipod touch/iphone or anything that uses itunes/the app store to get content for their device, then you would need to use your credit card details for an account. This would enable your child to happily download away easily spending £100 without realising on albums,apps and movies. With a account with no credit card details they would not be able to do this but still be able to download the free song of the week, free apps and other free content. Without costing you a penny! Also this is great if you download your music of sites such as amazon but you still want free apps!

Q.What if I/ My child wants to buy something?
A. You can use an itunes store card to credit your account!

The Guide

*****THIS IS FOR ANY IPOD AND CAN ALSO BE USED WITHOUT ONE! + IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT BUT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS, DON'T WORRY YOU STILL CAN*****

1. If you already have an account, choose Store > Sign Out.

2. Go onto the itunes store and click on app store on the navigation bar.

3. Go to any free app and click the 'free app' button.

4. This will bring up a 'Sign in to download' box. Click create an account

5. Click continue and then you will need to read ( or not read as the case may be) and accept the T and Cs. Then click comtinue

6.Enter your email address, create your password, continue to create and answer your security question, then enter your birthday. Click Continue.

7. IMPORTANT PART! Select NONE as the payment option!

8.You'll then see a screen that says 'Verify your Account'. Click Done and then check your email for a verification email from iTunes Store.

9. Open the email and click the activation link

10. Itunes should then prompt you to sign in with the account you just created. You'll then see a congratulations screen and your DONE!
