JSA Stage 3??

Options
Hi all

I was just wondering, what does Stage 3 of Job Seekers Allowance entail.

Will you be under more scrutiny?

Signing on every week?

Anybody could shed some light on it, that would be great.

Cheers

Everything will (or should be) outlined in your initial/restart 6-month interview. You will be eligible for a few more schemes such as the recruitment subsidy, work focused training, volunteering etc.

If you are on Flexible New Deal or not, you may need to sign weekly but this is set at your adviser's discretion and is usually 6 weekly signings.

i believe stage 3 is the period from 6 months to 12 months unemployed. during this you have to see an advisor once a month at the jobcentre.

I am unfortunately on my Stage 3 and was petrified when they told me, I had to go in for an extra meeting which was to make sure my jobsearch agreement thing was still correct, the three catagories (Im applying to alsorts already LOL) and what I'm supposed to do.....

After that it's stayed the same, I go once every two weeks and see somebody upstairs instead of downstairs (It's the same person everytime).... I must say it's much better and so much more helpful up there as they have time to sit with you and properly look at things, my meetings are 45mins long instead of the 2-3 mins downstairs and he's sent me on little day courses, given me job leads I would never have found, given me his direct number so if I have a query on something I can just phone.

Last week I had an interview that seemed promising so I phoned my guy in the jobcenter and he sent out forms in the post first class so I could take them into the employer if needed.

Oh, you'll be told about a employment grant of £1000 and a work trial thing that you'll be eligable for, hasn't helped me yet but he's helping keep my confidence up ;)

Hope that helps and don't panic
