Who just texted me?...

I checked my credit rating with credit expert this morning. About one hour later i received a text message from a number asking me if i *have poor credit, struggling with debt, need help getting on your feet* and to call this number.. 01228 508252. Anyone know what this is please and is this due to credit expert giving my number to someone?.
Thanks. Geebee
Thanks. Geebee

Thanks Preable.. on closer inspection of the text, it wasnt actually from them, it was from a mobile number asking me to call the 01228 number. I'm just a bit taken aback that as soon as i entered my details to credit expert, i get a cold call (text), and i never get these normally. If credit expert have passed my details on, i will be furious!

You could contact them and ask them if they have or not
Good luck trying to find out 0 -
Thanks Preable, i think i will do that, as this text actually used my first name and spelt it correctly, and that is NOT easy to do!. :rotfl:It must be them.. Now i'm on the warpath!

It maybe pure coincidence as during this time there are good odds to ring up a random person and find they are in debt.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Hi GeeBee, I have looked at the other posts, I dont fully agree. Yes it could just be a coincidence but a few years ago every time I maxed out another CC, I allways seemed to get a mail shot from some firm or other offering a consolidation loan or debt advice. It happened too many times to be coincidence. I was convinced that some one or corporation was compiling details of credit applications or increases in credit limit. I know I am prone to be paranoid, but I have allways found a heathy paranoia has kept me out of trouble on more than one occasion.
Prog last night on C4extra about how corporations compile details on individuals so they know what to sell them?

Hi..
First of all, i need to admit I made a mistake. It was NOT Credit Expert I checked my file with, it was Money extra.com.
:o My apologies to credit expert.
Thanks DarkConvict for the reply, I dont think it was coincidence though.
Thanks also Handyman for your imput, i think you are correct.
I called money extra and they said that they did NOT pass on details as such but they DO have partners that they share details with. The lady I spoke to said she would contact their IT team and ask them to remove my details from their files.
Later yesterday afternoon i got a call on my mobile using my name and telling me that i had been unsuccessful in a recent application for a credit card (just in case I needed it, didnt intend to use it unless for emergencies) but that i fitted the criteria for one of their loans. I asked her to remove my details from their database but she kept talking, i again asked her to remove my details, at which point she hung up!.. Charming!
