Problem with Serif is that in the past when I have taken up one of their offers they hound you with phone calls for ever ( or until you have to be blunt anyway ) so I think I will uninstall it as I can't register / use it without the code. Thanks for the info but once bitten.
  • 1st thing I've done since registering - many thanks

    Well it wasnt intentional.
A reminder like this one cant hurt though with only a day or two left to go before it becomes invalid

  • AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE... (i used to work for them)

They will spam you with telephone call after telephone call (every 2-3 months). Fill your inbox with crap offers from some made up russian girl. O and wait the software is awful.

Plus if someone really wanted a photo plus they could have my latest version 10 for free.

I guess we all have different experiences depending on our viewpoint and approach. I guess I'm more laid back about it.
I have called serif in the past to take up an offer and had the hard sell which I subsequently complained about.
I have found some of their products to be excellent value for money.
I worked with their desktop publishing program over a couple of years. It was very good. I cant vouch for their photo editing programs though because I never tried it.
I never give my phone number and opt for snail mail as my preferred method of correspondance.
As for email, I have a separate email addresses reserved for companys like this.
Serif only emails me once in a while
Paragon and ashampoo are the worst for spam. I registered products with both of them and they seem to think thats the go ahead for sending me offers almost daily. I simply create rules in outlook directing such emails to specific folders which I generally delete in the same way I discard junk mail that comes through my letterbox.
I still like to get Serif's snail mail because they often have unbeatable offers for useful gadgets such as USB hubs and flash drives. I always phone in my orders and if they babble on trying to sell me something I didnt ask for I say I will hang up if they dont simply take my order.
I know about the Russian girl, Natascha, i think shes called, they always put her name on the emails, she never answers the phone though
