Speaker's quality deteriorated. Can I send back?

Hello,

I bought some new speakers off of eBay last week, and as a bit of an audio-file I was very excited to get them. They turned up and they sounded great.

However, today (5 days after they turned up, 1 week after ordering) they really haven't got that "oompf" that they did a week ago. There's a definite drop in quality.

Am I within my rights to send them back and get an exchage?

Thanks so much in advance!

Craig

if you bought from a business you have 7 working days from arrival to notify them that you wished to return them, you are allowed to open them and test them but not damage them.

If you bought from just someone of ebay then tough luck

Private seller, Paypal claim up to 45 days, SNAD.

All sounds a bit subjective to me. Are you sure you haven't just got used to them now rather than there being an actual fault?

Speakers tend to need running in. I've noticed that brand new (decent) speakers can sound quite bright but settle down after a week or so into what they should sound. Can you post what speakers and setup you have ?

Means he was wrong in post 2, about returning to a private seller then suggested going through ebay in post 3, rather than raising a dispute through paypal for a SNAD item. (hopefully paid through paypal) as it's a lot friendlier to the buyer than the ebay claim procedure.
