1st Nationwide Mortgage Payment

We completed on our property on 1st April and took out our mortgage with Nationwide.
Our first mortgage payment came out on the 23rd April which was fine as that when we get paid, but a second payment came out on 3rd May!
Does anybody know if this is normal? Obviosuly we are seriously in our overdraft now as we weren't expecting the payment till the 23rd again.
Not a good way to start life in our new house!
Does anyone think or have experience with Nationwide, will they refund and move the date it comes out?
Thanks

Sounds quite normal to me though the payment on the 23rd should probably only have been a bit lower than the one due on 3 May. Didn't your solicitor advise you to keep extra funds available for this? Phone up Nationwide and see if you can get June's payment moved to a more suitable date, but you're out of luck expecting them to refund you.0
