Moorcroft Full Final

Hiya sent Moorcroft a full final for £2267.65 I have received this reply which I am bit sceptical of it says

Further to your recent enquiry I write to confirm we will accept £2267.65 of the outstanding balance as partial settlement of this account and the remaining balance will not be pursued by ourselves.

Please note this offer will only remain open for 10 days and please contact us further.

Bit that worries me is the bit they go we will not pursue, this is a massive saving and is 25% balance so want to do this but could with a tip on what to write back

Thanks

Make sure you get them to state they will mark your credit file as paid and settled with 0 balance. I would get this in writing before you pay.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Looking for weasel words, I would ask if they do not pursue it, then who might they sell the rest on to????

    DvardyShadow is spot on.

This is not a full and final settlement, neither is it a good partial settlement.

There are 2 partial settlements, one in which the debt is paid and marked partially satisfied on your credit file.

The other is, you pay a chunk of the debt (partial settlement) and they sell on the remainder to someone else!

Whatever you do, do not accept there offer. All they want you to do is pay them a lump sum and they are going to sell the rest of it off to another DCA to ask you for money as you still owe what is left.

Use the NDL and ask for it as a full and final! - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#6
