Hi
Just a quick question please, just checked my boyfriends score with him and its showing as poor. He is using 62% of his available credit and has satisfactory against of all his accounts(4 in total).
However he is not on the electoral roll, will this make a big difference to his points - currently 629? I can't see anything else that is dragging down his score - any suggestions?
Thanks
xx

Yes being on the electoral register plays quiet an inportant part of someones credit score.
They definatley need to get themselves on the electoral register.

Thanks for that. Does anyone have any idea how many points being on the electoral roll would add? I know its probably how long is a piece of string but about to apply for a car loan and need to know how to improve this fairly quickly.

Points are meaningless, every creditor scores you differently. You could have the best credit record ever but just because you are not on the electoral roll a mobile company won't give you a contract.
Equally you could have a good score but still be turned down for 0% cards due to banking with a competitor or maybe your just to young to have been offered it. Also creditors keep there own history on you, so if you default on a contract, 6 years later it will have fallen off but creditors may well remember you on there own internal systems and refuse you further contracts.
Just to repeat credit scores are meaningless, what you need to do is just be on the electoral roll and be sensible with your credit, never miss payments and dont over borrow or apply for credit!Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Hi all,
thanks for the help. In the process of registering now.
Can anyone advise who RCI financial services (previously renault finance) use as a credit checker? Just trying to ensure that score is as good as can be before applying.
have searched on google but no luck in finding who it is xxPay off as much as you can in 2011: £780/£8000Vouchers through surveys/shopandscan: £10/£250Ebay/Paypal target for 2011: £109/£10000 -
I've got a current hire purchase agreement with RCI, and looking at the paperwork, they mention Experian and Equifax. So I'm not sure whether
they use both or what. Beware though, I'm coming to the end of a 48 month deal with them, and have just realised I've been paying £35 a month more than I was quoted by Renault Benfield for the deal. This works out at £1200 more that I'm paying for the vehicle.
I've read some pretty nasty things about RCI lately. Adding huge fees to your account should you be late with a payment, and charging £25 for calling you. I'm attempting to get to the bottom of whats happpened with my account, as I've had no late payments and said no to PPI. I also noticed that the rate was fixed for the whole period at 11.5%
Anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be, apart from a c*** up on their part?:huh:0
