Help needed pretty please - DMP / financial job offer

Hello all,
I would really appreciate someones advice and guidance. I am currently paying off my debt via a DMP set up through payplan. I set this up in Jan 2008 and have been paying off consistently since then. Unfortunately, my salary has stalled since 2008 so I haven't been able to increase my payments. Fed up with the debt not shifting, I have managed to get a new job with an investment bank. Unfortunately, they do very strict background checks and I know that things such as CCJs are absolutely not allowed. As far as i'm aware, I don't have a CCJ, but my credit record will show lots of defaults from setting up the DMP, I assume. Can anyone offer any kind of advice on this? I queried with Payplan, although didn't get an entirely helpful reply.
Any ideas / suggestions?
Many thanks!

It depends entirely on the bank.
Some banks do not like it if even the customer facing bank clerks have defaults, nevertheless CCJs etc.
The best thing to do is be open and honest about it because they will find out anyway. Although someone on here recently had the same thing got accepted for a job on the condition of a credit check, they were open about it and the bank said ok. The credit came as expected, shot to bits and the bank pulled back the job offer, this was just for working in the I.T. department. So it really does depend on your file, the bank, the job position.
You just need to be prepared that the likely answer is going to be they will not offer you a job after seeing your credit file.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

well it's not for a clerk - it's actually not even banking but it's a section within a big bank. however, the bank applies same rules for all employees. tbh, i am fully prepared for them to withdraw their offer, which would be rather gutting as the increase would likely mean my debts would be paid off within a year, i/o by 2024!!!!
not much i can do about it tho!carve your name in red. the silver slipping and slicing. rose petals blossom and fall. soul steals away.0 -
Nope, nothing you can do but be open about it. Some banks do give exceptions if they are made aware of it, some do, some don't.
