Nice to hear about this. A planning is always needed in a life to overcome any crisis, especially economic planning.
You guys have shown that one can avoid any loan or debt if a planning is done wisely.
Hats off0 -
yeah, but ur wedding day is the most special day in ur life, why should you 'cut corners' if u dont want to? cant you maybe postpone the wedding for a year or so, to enable you to save more and still have the best day ever? if not, ull prob be looking at higher interest loans? x0

These forums never cease to amaze me...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
To put it into perspective, one day out of approx 29200. Yep, remember it for years, every time you make a payment on the debt. That is why venues can get away with charging double for a wedding what they would charge for another function with the same standard of catering etcmummyyummy wrote: »yeah, but ur wedding day is the most special day in ur life, why should you 'cut corners' if u dont want to?0 -
You could afford a loan with 30% interest? As in, 30% apr?!! Are you mad?! Why would you want to give away your money like that? I'm sure someone will come al with some proper advice shortly though...

No wonder the OP went bankrupt. It appears that no sooner are some bankrupts discharged they then have to go down the slippery road of debt at any cost.0 -
I don't wish to come across as nasty, but why don't you cut your cloth to fit.
If you can't afford it, don't have it.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

I went to the most amazing wedding I've ever been to in Thailand. 5* Beach resort, sunny (obviously) waves lapping on the beach while they were reading the vows. Amazing food etc afterwards. The whole thing with about 50 guests cost about 6k inc accomodation etc.
Why anyone would pay extortionate rates to get married in this country is beyond me.
Good luck with your loan though Andy!0 -
