Credit checks

Hi,

Another post - sorry guys but I have a lot of questions!

I recently had a credit check for a car finance company (I'm glad they turned me down tbh, don't really need more debt!) and was just wondering how long the checks will stay on my file for? I know that if you search a lot then it doesn't do you any favours, which is why I can't wait for these to be gone.

Thanks in advance :j

All credit checks stay for 2 years
Late payment markers for 3years (usually)
    Everything else 6years.

But its usually advised to have no more than 3 applications in a 6month period, so after say 12months whilst they will show they won't make much difference to your chances of being accepted for something else.
