Debts not showing on credit reports

Hi again helpful people

I have obtained my credit reports and am surprised to see that some debts I have previously been chased for by DCA are not showing on my reports. I am certain they are not more than 6 years old either.

Any one have any ideas please?

Thanks again.

Were they taken out at the address you are at currently? does the address you took them out at appear on your list of previous addresses?
Are you on the electoral roll?

  • Hi Tixy

The address I took them out at is over 6 years ago so not on but subsequent addresses appear on my credit file. I am not on the electoral role at my new house.

    Thanks.

It might be that your creditors have not tracked you to your new address yet. Now that you have put that address on your credit file you may find they start to contact you soon and that the debts will then appear on your credit report.

Hi pound coin, Tixy is right it isnt unusual for people to hear from DCA's after searching your credit report, there are many examples here and on other forums on MSE. Make shure that you have CCA request and SB templates to hand and things will work out OK in the end. Thats what I'm doing at the moment. Its a good thing after years of dreading the unexpected in the post to know that I'm getting things worked out.

Hi pound coin, just to add to what handyman says, your first response to any letter from a DCA that arrives should be the prove it letter.

Then depending on what they send to you in response to this we will advise on what to do after that.
