500ml Pepsi Max - £0.39, Tesco

  • Our Tesco (New Milton) has been selling the 500ml bottles for weeks now. We've taken to buying that instead of the 'new' Pepsi that they're now stocking. Its in a funny shape bottle and seems to loose its fizz really quickly. Doesn't seem to taste the same either

OK, so not a bargain as such but compared with everything else in the chilled drinks section it's the cheapest.

Wasn't any price for it on the shelf, was expecting to pay at least 81p for it but it scanned at 39 :D :T:T

This was in Tesco Alloa but I presume it's the same nationwide.. :)

Perfect my local store. :D Have you left any?

Just finishing my 39p diet Pepsi now! Didnt realise it was on offer until I spotted it in the chilled cabinet by the sandwiches - wanted something to drink so thought would have a bargain at the same time!:T

Farmfoods here in Edinburgh sell 5 cans for £1. Iceland have 12 cans for £2.50 and Morrisons had BOGOF for 6 pack at £2.27 but not sure if they are still selling at that. M:j akes you wonder why they are selling so cheaply - personally I am buying it up whilst I can as grudge paying £3.39 for 12

From what I understand from a reasonably ranking employee of Tesco what is actually happening is Tesco is trying to bully Pepsi. I'm not sure I understand it entirely, but Tesco is trying to source Pepsi from elsewhere to make it cheaper. I heard that Tesco is not actually making money on Pepsi as they are still buying it at full price and selling it at a low price, but they are buying it from other sources - such as Ireland and Poland. I don't really understand what they are trying to achieve and why they chose to go this route, but if it means cheaper drinks for the consumer then I think that is great.

I don't know if coke or sainsburys are reacting to this as for the first time this morning I bought two bottles of Coke Zero in Sainsburys expecting it to cost me £1.30 in the 2 for £1.30 'promotion', but the bottles cost me £0.76 in total. Bargain!!!

I hope this is a sign that Coke and Pepsi are going to lower their prices with thanks to some fisty-cuffs by the supermarkets. Next time I go into Sainsburys I'll have to see.
  • Bought Pepsi 2 ltr from Tesco last night - 68p

If I'm buying a 2 litre, I go for the cheapest supermarket coke (about 21p). If I am buying a small 500ml bottle I go for whichever's cheapest (coke or pepsi).

I would only consider coke or pepsi in 2l bottles if it was closer to 50p than the rip off £1.36
  • Should add that I looked at the label last night - It was in polish but had an english ingredients label stuck over it.

I am not suprised Asda and Tesco are kicking off trying to lower the price of pepsi.
Look at Lidl they have bottles at 69p Permently (you do have to by 6 at a time)
SO if Lidl can do it why not Asda and Tesco???
