Credit report clearance!

Hey Guys im just looking for some advice as i have had my credit report and some things I am unsure of!

Im looking to get my credit history into some sort of good shape as i am pregnant and starting to rent and want to be rid of debts from years ago!
There are 3 things which are bothering me:

1- So im looking through my report and there is an entry in credit account information from Avon Mail order. It has my name but my mums date of birth, not only that but the date started was 2004 when I was only 16/17 so unable to get credit for this! The balance is only £50 but im trying to get my credit report as clear as possible!

2- Ther is an entry for an account I was actually in credit with Natwest! I had a loan and two current accounts, one with an overdraft which I defaulted on :( but the other account was £50 in credit yet on my report it looks like i owe them £50!

3- My brother who is a serial bad debtor  appears on my financial associate searches! Does this affect my credit applications?!!?

Hope some one can help me get on the straight and narrow! Thanks! xx

1 - I would quiz the information on your report with Avon so they can amend it.

2 - A default lasts 6 years from the date it was placed, it is the default that will be doing the real damage to your report. Once settled it has a slightly less effect, however you need to wait the 6 years for it to fall off before you see real improvement.

3 - Yes, creditors can search anyone who is linked on your report. If risk was scaled 1-10, 10 been a bad risk, and you were a 4, and he was a 8. Your risk level would be an 8. They take the worst information.
To remove the link you need to close all joint accounts you hold together and then notify the 3 CRAs for a notice of disassociation. They will confirm no accounts are open then remove the link.
