Catalogue debt

Hello
I know i'm a complete idiot for letting this happen  but I was wondering what everyone else thinks about this situation and how you would handle it.
My SIL purchased a tv on my catalogue account (500 worth) which, to be fair she has been paying. However, we are starting on a DMP and this will be included. She is now saying that she doesn't think she should pay us if we are not paying them. I know its MY debt as its in my name etc but at the end of the day, it will get paid eventually, just not at the rate the catalogue company want. I was just going to put the money in my 'debt pot' to pay a chunk off when we can. Once she had paid off the amount she owes then that would be the end of it iyswim.
So...help? How would you handle it?

Tell her it will get paid as it is a DMP not bankruptcy, and gently reminder her she brought it on your account, so she owes you the money. Tell her to forget about where they money goes once it is in your hands.
Basically all you will be doing is taking the money from her as income and distributing it to your debts.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
DO you have a payment card showing weekly / monthly payments for the tv or any proof the tv was for her ..
id still make sure she paid it0 -
Say if she doesnt pay you will have to name her and the bailiffs will be around to collect her share + doorstep collection fees.
Well thats what the DC companies try and tell you. So just pass the info on.

when you bought it were they aware that it was for someone else, if they were you can have this amount taken off your bill and they can send a bill direct to your SIL and she can arrange payments herself and if she does not pay them it won't effect you thenBarclaycard 0
