hi, just wanted some advice on a debt i owe crapquest, I currently owe £725 which i've been paying at 181 per month, after working mad hours this weekend i've got £544 to pay them which they have just accepted on the phone, i've said i will pay them tommorrow by debit card and asked if they will send me a letter to say this is in full and final payement which they have said they will... question is, is it safe to do so? should i trust that they won't then try to get the other 181 out of me? the reason i want to pay in full is because the amount that egg think i owe is about £2000 more than crapquest's balance so i'm trying to pay it of b4 they up the anti.. help please??

I'm sorry but I don't know enough to help you.
Please be patient. It is a Bank Holiday and many people are busy doing family things. Bump the thread this evening if you haven't received any helpful replies.0 -

Never believe anything they say on the phone
Never pay an F&F settlement without getting it in writing.
Many people have fallen foul of both of these rules, if you pay them and have no written confirmation they will deny the phone call and ask that you pay them the rest, if you refuse they will just get a CCJ for the remainder.
If you have no written proof you do everything at your own risk.
My advice wait for the letter, if they complain just say you are waiting for the confirmation letter to arrive, if every looks okay ill send payment next working day. Do check the terms of the F&F letter as well because it might not have the required terms to release you of the liability if they sell the reminder of the debt. Also keep F&F letters for 6 years just incase they do sell the debt.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
