bank charging problems

 Hi one and all

I switched over to the alliance and leicester deal that was advertised but found that due to late repayment of expenses from my company that I have been charged a large amount in charges. Where my old bank would increase my overdraft til the reimbursables were paid then reduce it, A & L has refused to increase my limit at all and charges 34 for payments that weren't paid. then they had the nerve to suggest i took out another loan with them to solve the problem!

I am attempting to reclaim charges but they claim they owe nothing. I have been looking at the web site detailed here and will be follwoing it further but as a single parent who normally breaks even every month reimbursables excluded it has been a complete nightmare.has anyone had to pay the cost to pursue them through the courts as I am concerned if it gets to this stage as I won't be able to pay

I have reduced all outgoings as much as possible, short of a magic wand I am not sure what else to try...
E

hi there - yes, you have to pay the court charges when it gets as far as a claim, but you do get this refunded when they pay up.

    Hi Evie P,
Yeah i had the same problem with A&L. I switched from HSBC who were totally crap, but who did at least give me the grace of not charging me for bring overdrawn for a few hours eg on a weds night when paying for fuel by switch then hubbies wages going in at midnight on the thursday am, they never ever charged me for it, yet A&L charge me £34.00 per item paid and reject the flippin payment too!!!!

Nightmare bank! Dont know whether to switch again or not??
