Have a good read-through of the Oldstyle board - there's a mega indexed thread at the top divided into sections so you should be able to find helpful stuff.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

£250 should be no problem at all - I do 4 people generally for IRO £160.

What type of meals do you eat, and what convenience products do you buy?

Giving us an idea of what you and your family eat and how it is made will mean it is easier to give you ideas on how to cut down.

    Hi savvykaz,

Welcome to the Old Style board. :hello:

If you're trying to cut back on your food bills then a good place to start is the Mega Index thread. If you click on the Shopping section, you'll find quite a few threads on budgeting.

To give you an idea of what other Old Stylers have in their menu plans, have a look at the OS Menu Plans Collection

Thanx WM - what a MUPPET I feel!
I must confess I do spend too much on recipe meals rather than starting from scratch - will try to change this BAD habit

£250 will be easy :) I feed 4 people, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 4 fish on £200 a month and that includes all toiletries, laundry and cleaning products.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
