Anyone know of a reasonable divorce lawyer in Ballymena? Everything is going to be pretty much straight forward - no kids, finances etc to sort out so just need someone to do the official stuff.
Obviously money savings friendly is a must!!!
Thanks in advance!

I have used, Ann Hanna, Boal Anderson, High street Ballymena beside the Tax office
At that time the one solicitor in the area, which every solicitor was worried about was Margaret Neilly, now at McKervill Neilly Broadway .
Did you know that if both parties are in agreement or have been separated for 5 years plus, there is no need to use solicitors, you can take it to court yourself and it only cost about £400, I have done this, its easy.
Good luck

don_ky01 - would you mind letting me know more details about this DIY divorce please? Sounds good as we would rather not pay a solicitor if at all possible since theres nothing left to sort out - just need a piece of paper!
Feel free to pm0 -
If you contact the High court in Belfast and Ask for the matrimonial and probate office, I think there is a direct line but the switch board will sort you out.
When you speak to them tell them that you want a DIY divorce, they will talk you though what needs to be done and in what order as well as the costs involved. They will send you some info and if all is OK an appointment can be made for you go to the High court office, for a one on one walk-though to ensure you understand everything and supply you with an application pack.
The pack contains a draft, for a divorce application which you will need to re type yourself filling in the relevant details ( use the pc and print off ) return this, along with the fee.
You have the choice of, County court or High court, there is a small price difference but the High court sits more often.
A Hearing will be set and you must ensure that your ex gets a copy.
On the day, you attend the court office to be briefed, then its along wait as they take all the represented cases first.
Once in the court they read your petition and if there are no objections, you are asked if you are sure this is what you want and that there is no chance of a reconciliation. I was in and out in Two minutes but I had a proper separation agreement in place and because we had lived apart for 5years I did not need her agreement to the divorce.
Good Luck0 -
The important thing to remember is that most lawyers are scum who are interested in one thing - their hourly rate.
If there are no issues with the divorce you can do an online application and there many sites dealing with this.
If your wife goes to a lawyer he or she will think of all sorts of reasons for your wife to screw you over, they get to write more letters and make more phone calls that way,.
Try to do it without dealing with the bloodsuckers if you actually can0 -
Thank you so much for that info - very useful and sounds straightforward.
I shall give them a call on Tuesday for sure!
Cheers

Hey, thanks for the reply. My ex lives on England and has served me the petition, I just wanted a solicitor to cast their eye over it to make sure it's all as it should be.
It's good to hear I can do it myself! Should save a good bit of money! Has anyone used ballintines solicitors? A few ppl have told me about them.:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0
