Just wanted to throw in that I got a letter this week, 4 addresses on in a name I haven't used for 17 years! The amount was less than £1000

Believe me - they find you!

Long story - I wasn't hiding but as it is now statute barred I won't be rushing to pay it either!

I thought I read somewhere that the debt is enforceable even after 6 years if you deliberately ran from DCA's and didn't forward adresses and such.

I do agree that you should own up to your past and stop running. You have the money or products and the lender has nothing. The picture I get is it's ok to take and take and take and not pay it back.

Don't be suprised if you start getting demands in the mail before the 6 years are up.

The Nationalspacer.gifHUNTER system is an anti-fraud data sharing system for use by members of the Financial Services Industry. It was founded in 1993, with the assistance of the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML). From the initial six member organisations, the system has grown to include approximately 90 sites, all sharing application information for the purposes of fraud prevention.

    Well said 3 Dogs!!

His attitude in his posts are cocky to say the least. Totally unlike many who post who are worried sick about their debts and are genuinely seeking help in paying them.

I read though part of the limitation act the other day to see if running away prevented it going statute barred, i couldn't see it however i have heard about it before, that giving false information can prevent it going statute barred.
