My lappy is brand new & died yesterday already!! It overheated. I think I do too much for it to cope with, can't imagine how yours chugs along

It's been okay until the last month.

It crashed 4 times last night though!!! :eek: :eek:

Try doing what I said - may not seen like a software problem but if anything is running processes 'behind the scenes' this will overburden your fan & cause it to overheat

I'm really proud of myself today - I posted 4 comps within an hour that weren't posted - it's been a dream for me to contribute a bit more to the compers forum - I know this sounds silly to you guys who post all day long but usually by the time I get back from work all the e-mails I have received have already been posted so I'm well chuufed

Should have said there was a comp I entered on here last week (would have bumped it to say when it happened but panicked too much) that downladed over 150 virii to my PC - I have multiple firewalls etc & McAfee caught most of them but not them all (although it said it did) & my processors & fan went wild & my lappie was crashing - managed to upload a .exe version of spybot I had saved to disc to save my kit long enought to run full spybot

How do you keep it properly ventilated? Mine crashed cos it was on a cushion on my knee, lol, I covered the fan hole up I'm so clever didn't you know??

I've done that.

The fan is overheating as soon as I turn it on sometimes, so I don't know what's going on.

It's such a fantastic feeling!!! :T :T :T
