yum lovely ice cream...
Can I ask please, would it be ok to use soil from the garden to grow veg? I am too lazy to go buy compost
hi NNW, depends what you want you want to grow& what's been in the garden soil before, you can't grow onions in the same soil or tomatoes, if you give me an idea what you're thinking of growing might be able to help, we had an allotment for over 10 years & only recently gave it up due to hubbys eyesight, now we grow our tommys, herbs, etc in pots on back garden
love the piccies pms, looks like you all had a good timeplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

Could I ask you guys something, there wasnt really a "comp questions here" thread I could see.
I cant believe I have fallen for this. Saphire Studios. Made out like it was a comp win, yes they got £99.98 out of me and I realised it wasnt a comp after I hung up and all the rest. PRIZE PRAT!!!!! You could not make me feel any worse. TRUST ME! Well, I tried to cancel the payment, they already had it. But I have called them straight back, their manager called me back and seemed happy to give me a refund (I suspect it was the unemployed husband bit that did it. Thats right, am skint, you aint getting no money for photos out of me!) So I await an email fingers crossed. Provided an email turns up soon I will be overall happy with them.
To the point. Am I right in thinking (I need to get my mind right here) that if you win NO MONEY CHANGES HANDS. I have hear of postage costs etc and unless your talking a car so yes, you gotta get your own insurance which is a cost, it should all be covered by the promotor? I'd gotten myself into a tizz thinking I'd won something and that I had missed it so I think all that was taking over my sensible side.
I guess I know the answer but in big letters may help drill it home ;-)The will to save every money saving penny we can0 -

Aww many thanks Korky x
It's just things like sunflower, sweetcorn, eggplants, tomatoes, lettuce, and herbs
I think I should jut order some compost, what do you think? x
Fliss, sorry you had to pay, no wins should involve paying!! Don't let them get away with it, I suppose even an employed husband wouldn't want to pay £100 on photos ....I am sure there's someone to write to if they deny you refund. Surely who to write to, has been mentioned in the discussions somewhere ..
Hope you win something great soon x0 -

hi NNW, herbs are fine grown in ordinary soil, i grow all my chives, thyme, parsley etc in pots with garden soil, though i do top up them now & again with compost as it helps feed them
lettuce will be fine as well, btbh they do benefit with having compost mixed in,
tomatoes are a no-no with garden soil unless it's been sterilised,
you need a proper growbag or compost for them
