I was sure I saw this offer on these forums and came on to say thanks to the original poster but I can't find the original thread anywhere.

Somerfield have 1L of Grant's whiskey for £7.92. If, as in my store, it is on the shelf at £17+ just ask for a price check at the till and it should come up with the offer price.

Having checked 6 stores only 1 had any Grants at all and this was a full price (£11.99 ?) 70cl bottle
It seems most (so they say) have never had Grants and the ones that have was because of a special promotion.

    Yes that's the one thanks!

My local store is in north Scotland. The Grants was hard to find, they had it tucked away with the expensive single malts but they seem to have plenty and have replenished stock a couple of times now.

That's what my local branches say, too (I live in Dudley, West Midlands).

Can anyone throw any light on why it is only available in certain stores/areas?

    Thanks!
    If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!
  • I checked Somerfield Congleton last night and no sign - didn't even gave 70cl bottle!
