Nikon 55-200mm Lens for D3000

afternoon all,

I'm after a new lens for ma D3000, Its a 55mm-200mm Lens, but wanted to know if anyone could point me in the direction of a good company that will offer it cheaply.

    It's worth noting that Nikon produce two similar versions of the 55-200mm zoom lens:-
    - so a good idea to check which one you want (I would recommend the VR version, it's more expensive, but the VR is a real benefit especially at the longer telephoto settings), and which version you are actually being offered for sale.

    Camerabox.co.uk sell the VR version for £145 delivered, and the other for £130. These are good prices, but I don't have any personal experience of this web seller.

    An excellent site for lens & camera reviews & guides and general advice is kenrockwell.com

    I got one of these (the VR lens) from Simplyelectronics a couple of months ago for £137 and it arrived next day. I just looked at their site and saw they are now selling it for £220! :eek::eek:

    When I bought mine, Camerabox and Simplyelectronics were the same price... I'd heard bad reports about Camerabox so steered clear.
