my brother was allergic to milk (vomiting and eczma) to the point where my mum couldnt have dairy whilst BFing as my brother reacted to what she had eaten. We tried soya milk, rice milk, goats milk and sheep milk. We settled on sheeps milk as we liked it the most (especially sheeps milk icecream), mum converted the whole family so my brother didnt feel left out. By the time he turned 5 he was fine with dairy and now drinks at least 1 pint of cows milk a day, where as I have never been allergic to the stuff but cant stand it oh well.

    As for snacks we have:
    Toast
    Pittas
    chapatis
    bread sticks
    banana
    stewed apple
    pear
    cucumber
    strawberry
    beetroot
    boiled potato cubes
    boiled carrot sticks
    fruit puree
    weetabix (with water usually)
    ready brek (with water)
    home made flapjacks and biscuits
    home made scones
    etc

HI my nephew has a milk protein allergy and a gluten allergy, my sister was given a list of foods he can eat and vitalite spread is on the list! When your out shopping a few supermarkets stock 'free from' ranges which is worth looking into, but i would look into a vegan diet on top of babies meat intake as it may give your more ideas

my first 2 sons were allergic to milk, but I didnt find out the cause of all the problems until my 2nd son went for his 6 week check. By then my eldest was very poorly, and despite lots of time in hospital they just kept putting him back on formula. My 2nd son was breastfed, and my breastmilk was affected by me having cows milk. I gave it up and hey presto, no problems with him. I gave him juice and avoided all dairy when weaning. he loved his food and never had any problems. Water has calcium in it, and make sure to get pure margerine which has vitamin D added. At 7 months most of his calories should still be from his milk so keep on breastfeeding as long as you can, as he may be allergic to Soy milk, my 2 were.
Do please be careful, my eldest son is now ok with some milk, but the damage caused massive problems, and he is also coeliac (problably) because of it.

I did baby led weaning with my daughter and we loved it! She's a great eater now. Have you tried looking at any BLW specific forums to see if they had any ideas and do you have the Gil Rapley book?

My daughter would have quite a few pasta dishes since it was easy to shake up the flavours with different sauces. Spaghetti is good because it's pretty easy to get a hold of even without great motor skills. Toast was always a big hit so you could substitute the butter for honey or jam (but you'd have to watch the sugar intake).

I've got pictures of her gumming away on a piece of steak when she was 8 months old (and still didn't have any teeth!). I knew she wouldn't get many calories out of it and wouldn't choke but it helped her to get used to flavours. She's a brilliant eater now so i'd say definitely stick to the BLW if you can.
