LX Direct Discount Query

Well I have entered two discount codes on LX direct, and the discount shows up when you go from the basket screen to the next one. However at the checkout screen it then says you are paying the full amount. This is what the checkout screen says 'You have selected to pay by credit/debit card. Your total order value is £283.49 (The Full Amount)' I am expecting to pay £240.49.

Therefore Im not ordering until someone else who has ordered from LX direct can assure me that the full amount appeared on the checkout screen but when the money actually came out of their bank account the discounted amount was taken out.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

  • Whenever I have ordered using a code, the checkout value has always reflected the discount (i.e the amount it says I will pay is correct after the discount). However, I have never paid using a credit or debit card, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. If anything though, I would suspect whatever the amount says is what you will actually be billed.

The system has always told me if a code isn't valid, so it can't be down to that (unless it's changed recently?).

I have paid in full and then been refunded the discount if one has applied.

They do that, so they are legally covered if they decide to charge you the full amount.
I have ordered 3 times with them and on the last one, they decided not to honour the discount voucher. I was charged the full amount and couldn't get the money back without returning the item (at my loss).
When they do honour it, they do so in the form of a refund later on.
SO, make sure you have enough funds in the account for the full amount anyway.

Now that i know that, I will give it a miss! £40 is too much to lose.
  • I just ordered a Dyson on LXdirect and used a discount code for £15 off and paid by credit card; the discount was shown on the summary - don't know if this helps but, I didn't have a situation where the discount didn't show up!

You are only allowed 1 money off voucher per order with LX, you can use a money off + free delivery code together tho.

Ordered my daughter a pack of 5 school tshirts and a pair of tracky bottoms on friday, used a £10 off code and a 10%off plus free delivery code. Both discounts have shown on the order confirmation and I've just tracked the delivery which says it's due tuesday. Credit card payment not yet showing on my internet banking so I'll check it in the morning and see what they've taken. The order price was £22.99 plus £3.50 delivery and the order confirmation shows "total including delivery" £10.69. Doesn't add up but I assume the 10% is taken off already.

Your discount should show up before you press to submit your order. If you are concerned give them a call if they take the code great if they won't then don't order. Tell them it is too expensive without the discount. If you're not going to order without the discount you have nothing to loose.
I always pay by debit or credit card and only once has the discount not shown before I pressed submit and i didn't get the discount that time.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves
