Getting Married In Four Weeks...

Me again...Plans changed yet again, but booked this time and deposit paid so no more changes..lol

I am getting married at 12.30pm on Thursday the 27th May. Finally decided on a lovely hotel five minutes away from us, and it is actually cheaper for the registar to come to the hotel and marry us there.

We got a great deal. £700 for 50 guests with a three course meal plus tea or coffee, room hire, linen, cake stand and centre pieces, plus Bridal Suite. We are able to get into the Bridal Suite on the Wed night and leave our stuff there, then get ready there the next day. So we have it for two nights and a late check out on the Friday lunchtime.

They also do a DJ for an extra £150 which we are going for and free room hire for the evening do. We do have to pay extra for wine for toasts (although we aren't having any speeches, so it is really just for when he and I enter the room), but it is only £15 a bottle and the wedding planner said that three bottles should do us, she will get the waitresses to fill everyones glasses before we enter and then do another whip round straight away before any one has had much of a chance to drink anything, and we only pay for what has been opened.

Our top table holds 10, which solves any problems about OH's family. We don't think any of them will come and didn't want gaps in the seating. So top table will hold me and OH, plus my three bridesmaids, and his Best man plus two grooms men. The Grooms men and one of my Bridesmaid are his children, one Bridesmaid is my niece and the Chief one and Best man are my brother and his partner.

Each other table holds 8 so we are going to place families together and then if his side don't turn up the wedding planner will just remove a table so there are no noticable gaps.

I am hoping everyone RSVP's, invites are going out tomorrow and on his side I will put SAE's and clear wording that they must answer by Thursday or they will not be included. We don't mind if they don't come but would rather know as then we can nvite other friends instead.

I have my dress, a beautiful jade green one from Ann Harveys which I will be able to wear again.

and he has his suit, waistcoat and cravat.

We also have my brothers suit, waistcoat and cravat. OH and myself both have our shoes and wedding rings. We still need to get waistcoats, ties and trousers for the two boys, and bridesmaids dresses. Thinking of silver, if anyone sees anything cheap..

Mum is sorting out a cake for me, I want chocolate and she is going to decorate it for me.

Went to Poundland tonight and got the invites and place cards. The place cards are lovely with a little bell attached...10 for £1, and also picked up cake boxes there...pack of ten of either grooms suits, or wedding dresses. We are going to use these as favour boxes and Tescos had big boxes of chocs on offer a while back for £1.50 with a best before date of next year...being MSE I had bought some for Christmas, but am going to open them and put a few chocolates in each box wrapped in tissue paper.

Getting really excited now...
;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

well Done - what a lot you have achieved!!
That sounds like a good price for the venue too - and very practical to just move a table if OH's family act like children...!!

    How exciting......Well done!! x
