Rice

Options
Ive made aload of rice pudding last night and today theres some left,
is it safe to reheat it ?
Ive heard Rice can hold bacteria .

    yes it can but if you get the rice up to above 65 degrees as quick as possible and keep it there for as long as the rice pudding can take it you should be OK. Or just eat it cold. If it's been in the fridge you shouldn't have anything to worry about anyway, bacteria are usually dormant below 5 degrees and above 65 they're usually dead.

    it's only a problem if you keep the rice at room temp. I doubt you'll have any problems with it.

    I went on a feed hygiene course at work and the teacher said that its a different kind of bacteria than normal food ones that is released on 2nd cooking (bacillus cereus forms protective spores that survive the cooking process)reheating rice will not inactivate the emetic toxin that can be produced and kill bacterial cells so can't rely on how safe it is.

    been on a food hygiene coure too and you have to be wary of reheating rice, but on saying that, before fridges gran kept leftover rice pud in the larder and it tasted lovely cold too and did me no harm

    hi you should be ok but you coul serve in a tall glass with some fruit with some crused biscuits on job we like ginger snaps :beer:
