Oooh, good timing! I need a new sling, I think Erin needs something more supportive than the Kari me stretchy wrap but I can't decide if I should go for another wrap or a mei tei. I prefer to have the weight spread as much as possible (ie both my shoulders and back of Erin's legs) and I like her sitting on my hip, also want something good for summer. Any recommendations?

Sorry to ask loads of questions, I saw this on the site "Stretchy wraps in particular can be tied on before 'popping' your baby in." Does that mean the woven wraps cant be used to pop baby in and out? Also I'm a UK size 8 so would 4.6m be too long for me?

A woven wrap is poppable it's just easier with a stretchy as there's more give in it :-)
A 4.6 may end up being a bit long yes, particularly if you start doing back carries. Although you can just tie it round your waist again (like I assume you've been doing with your kari me) when you're first getting to grips with a woven the extra length can be handy as well.
I can't think of any hip carries off the top of my head that are two shoulder carries, I don't do them very often tbh as like you, I prefer the weight on both my shoulders.
Mei tais are good for summer (imo) as you get gaps at the side for air flow! (I find them the easiest to bf in too)
So, er, yes, to sum up, I recommend one of everything ;-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Jenny, Fritha is far more knowledgeable than me, but I can say I have a 5m ish woven wrap and am a sz8, I don't find that it's too long atm and I usually put it on first then 'pop' Ed in it and tighten it but I also have a MT and I'm eyeing up a buckle carrier :shhh: don't tell hubby!0

I didn't think yours was that long Sami? Well, you learn something new everyday! More knowledgeable maybe, more fluffy definitely!
Long tails don't really make a difference when you're wrapping on the front as it takes more material to wrap but once you do back carries, depending on which tie you do you may find you've got rather long tails!
Imo though too long is better than too short, you can still wrap with a too long wrap you just have to tuck the tails in or tie them round but a too short wrap you have to get creative!
You are allowed more than one sling at a time as well (in fact it's positively encouraged!) so you could buy shorter wrap later on ;-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
yeah I creatively measured it via guessing about a metre and folding it
The length of my Joey straps is more annoying, I might email them to see if they'd shorten them for me...
