Orange Table Decorations/Ideas

Hi all!

I am new to this (so be nice!) and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips regarding table decorations for the reception?

I am undecided as to whether to have a couple of flowers in a vase, feathers or petals. I have found (after many hours of trawling the net) some orange table crystals which I am going to sprinkle over the table, but I am coming very much unstuck with the centre piece's for each table!

I am finding it really tough finding orange-coloured 'stuff' to work with.

Does anyone have any unique ideas which I could consider? I am getting married in August, I have everything sorted BUT the table centre pieces!

Thanks for any replies :)

Don't worry - we will be nice....!!

Have you considered a tall vase with fake oranges in it?? Could possibly top it with some white/cream gerberas or something....

    How does that grab you??

Flowers in a vase would be nice - simple and effective too....

Can you have candles at your venue?
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

I did originally want some big chunky candles in vases with natural coloured stones in the bottom and some crystals mixed in with them all but we have a fair few children coming (old enough to not eat table crystals, but too young to not play with candles!) so I decided to leave that idea and go for the flower/feather/petal idea's.

I did see something online about placing fruit in a bowl/vase for a bright and fresh looking effect, but I didn't think it would work seeing as it will be in the middle of August, but fake oranges and gerberas sounds good!

I was thinking of going back to the florist and seeing how much she will charge on top of other flowers to stick in a couple more for the centrepieces. I thought that, this option too, would be quite expensive!

Simple and minimalistic what kind of what I was going for, I don't want anything to over the top, I want something that is quite elegant but doesn't look too bland and boring!

look at fake flowers....if you have a Dunelm mill near you, they have flowers really cheap and they have some nice vase/plates/mirrors too.....
It is worth playing around with a few ideas in the shop and the assistant will probably help you as well, they are quite creative in the main!

If you had tall orange pillar candles, you wouldn't need to light them - they would be a feature all on their own, and you could make a ring around the bottom with flowers and feathers?

orange gerbera heads and floating candles look nice

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • I think you can buy submersible floralytes in orange. They run on batteries, I believe and would look very pretty in a vase maybe with some gerbera heads as suggested. I can't post links but they're easy to find on google.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!
  • We are having a pink and oragne theme, and i have got aqua beads - they are really good. normally around 99p for a box/packet and one sachet will pretty much fill a 2ltr vase.
can put flowers in them and looks really lovely. They are like marbles but bit "sqidgey". we are having them in a vase with a submergeable light in the bottom of the vase, sitting on a mirrored plate with gerberas in them.

hope you find the perfect idea for your day!

  • How about some bright orange candles on a circle mirror base, add some orange crystals and possible some orange flower heads and there you go!
Also had a look on google, http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=orange%20table%20decorations&cts=1272630498903&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi seems some quite intresting ideas here.

Thanks for all your replies, the aqua beads sound good, think I may have to have a look into them.

That and the mirror plates and some orange candles sound similar to what I was after. I have only found one type of table gems which are in the colour that I need to match the bridesmaids and they're a Whopping £9.75 for 100 and they're tiny. I ordered a bag just to see how they'd look and theyre gorgeous and a nice colour match but not very money saving!!!
