I called yes loans and was told id been successful for a loan and just had to pay the administration fee and the paperwork would be sent out and id have the money within 48 hours. YIppe ..OR so I thought...I paid £69.50 with my  credit card but then started to get passed to three other people. When I asked why and they kept putting me off I started to get suspicious. To cut a long story short I was then told I was speaking to a debt consolidation agency, to which I replied WHY???...I only apllied for a loan...I asked for my money to be refunded as they werent helping me but they have taken it and now I get put on hold when I get through to the company. I have since read reviews..(YES I know I should have done that before) and I think basically ive been conned. Im so worried about this and was actually physically sick when I came off the phone and realised what id done. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Really sorry to say this, but I've been there, done that (think it was about 50 quid when I did it) and they didn't get me any loan whatsoever I'm afraid. I think their admin fee is a total scam , I would have taken it further but was suffering from major depression at the time I dealt with them. Are you trying to consolidate your debts? If so I would really recommend speaking to National Debtline. I don't know the phone no. but someone on here will tell you.

Just thought, is there any way you could get the money back through your credit card company? Worth a try. I'm not very knowledgable on it, but I bet someone on here could tell you if you could.
Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.
  • I would tell your local paper if they have conned or WatchDog. I had a loan and no fee should be paid. If anything, it is taken into count with your loan.
Personally, i wouldnt get a loan, its left me in debt which im working on. x

Unfortunately Yes do make it clear they are a broker on website but not over phone. I Stupidly paid this money and got a refund....after so long they refund it to you I think it used to be 3 months - I think they hoped you'd forget about it or something :S

Put it in writing to them, best way do not deal with them on the phone as they keep you on there are long as possible making them more money!

They are not conning people - its a shame we can't get them for that. On voicemail msgs and website clearly states brokers! :(

This comment is unecessarily harsh, imho. However, there are countless posts on here warning against paying up front fees and it is a shame people don't come here frist before they fall for these scams. Never, ever pay an up-front fee. No decent lender or broker will ever ask for one.

    It's true though.
Companies like Yes Loans prey on the stupid and/or desperate.
If you are that needy to go to them instead of mainstream, they cannot help anyway.
