My husbands ex as decided to claim maintaince for my husbands other 2 children, the csa worked out that we have to pay £208. a month. they took into account our child tax and working tax. They were both paid into my husbands account , but now i have changed them into my name and account, but it is a joint claim seeing as my husband is the one with the job. Can the csa still take the tax credits into account now they will be going into my own name and account. I have two young children to take care of and its very hard now all that chunk of money goes every month.

Wasn't the ex claiming child support before then??

Hi, I challenged the decision and the csa said it was right, they took 20% out for our two now who are 5 and 6, and 20% of what is left goes to her. his other 2 are 13 and 14. she would not spend the money on them, just on herself

So, if the ex would use the money for ''herself'' what money is being used to support the children now??? All the money would go into the proverbial pot and is spent from there and bills, food etc would get paid from that surely.

I do not believe in a reduction for additional children - if you cannot afford to support the ones you have already, then maybe think twice before having more and then complaining about how expensive it is.

How eloquently put.:T I just wonder how the new partner would feel if her partner left her and her kids with no maintenance:sad:

But they never think it will happen to them because they are superior to the ex.

How does the OP know what the child support will be spent on? It never ceases to amaze me how they all have an insight into the financial situations of their partner's ex's - they seem to know that the PWC will squander the child support on themselves - if the PWC works, how can you tell which money is earnings or child support? If PWC gets their hair cut and coloured, it will only ever happen if they get child support - maybe that is true because they couldn't afford to use any of their own money on themselves because they were bearing the full costs of bringing up the children! When they get child support though, their own money is freed up so that they can afford a few luxuries. Are PWCs never to buy anything for themselves again when they get child support???

So very well put. We PWC's are just soooo greedy and awful, never feeding or clothing the kids, making them cut up newspapers to use in the loo and sending them to charity shops to get toys.. Just so we can go out every night drink smoke, go and have more babies oooooh just such wicked people we are!!!! lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::j

Nanytoone - please keep all personal comments to yourself. Kellogs has been good enough to put her story on this board to help others, and she is finally coming out of the other side. For some of us it shows that the CSA can be challenged and a fair decision upheld.

These boards are about ENTITLEMENT not governement policy, and it is about ensuring that everyone knows their repsonsibilities rather than commenting on others personal circumstances.
