Abel & Cole?

I've just had a flyer through from Abel & Cole with an offer. I noticed a few other people in our block get these deliveries and it has piqued my interest.
I took a look at their website and it all looks great. However, it doesn't really give you an idea of how many pieces of each fruit/veg you get with your order. The photos of the boxes look quite generous but I have a feeling when they arrive it isn't that many of each product. Can anyone who regularly buys from them give me an idea of the number of individual fruit/veg you get with different sized boxes?
Also, what is the quantity/quality value like for cost in comparison to the big supermarkets and their organic fruit/veg?

I asked something along those lines not long ago and got no response. I would be eager to order using the £50 cash back promotion they regularly run if the boxes were enough to keep us going all week.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

The offer on the leaflet I got is this:
You get £30 free shopping if;
1) At the checkout please quote code SPRING30 when placing your first order
2) You need to receive your first delivery by 11th June 2010.
3) You'll need to order 4 consecutive weekly deliveries (including a Fruit & Veg box set up as 'every week' delivery).
4) Each delivery must be over £15 (excluding 99p delivery charge).
Offer only for new customers.
Money is credited to your account the day before your 5th order is delivered.
Must be spent by 30th July 2010.0 -
We did this when we got a £50 free offer. I think we got the £15 box which was plenty for two of us for a week. Was good to get some different stuff (celeriac, some random fruit) which we wouldn't normally get, and knowing that most of it is from the UK and is organic was good as well.
Can't remember exactly how many bits of each fruit/veg we got but it depends on size, obviously - you'll only get one melon or one marrow but you'll get a handful of apples etc.
Compared to supermarkets it's probably similar, maybe slightly more expensive. We cancelled after the free offer ran out as it was more expensive than we would normally pay, but not by much. It's worth trying if you've got a decent offer (which you have!). HTH.0 -
The offer i got was similar to yours except the code APRSUB50. Gets £50 account credit.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

This is an offer for "selected customers only", which means existing ones I guess. Not sure whether it would apply to new customers as well but may be worth a try as the minimum spend is only £20. Here are the details
- You need to spend at least £20 by 28 May 2010 (excludes 99p delivery charge)
- At checkout, type code TEN
- The £10 credit needs to be spent by 2 July 2010.
Abel & Cole's products are generally more expensive than buying at supermarkets or markets. However, given the quality of the product and the fact that they only sell organic, it's worth the (roughly) 15 to 25% extra that you normally end up paying. In other words, it's like buying from a farmers' market where the stuff is fresher, locally produced and organic but clearly more expensive.
Hope that helps0
