Hi I'm looking for some large white jugs, probably 10-12 jugs with approx 2 pint capacity. I need them for a wedding at the end of the year and prefer them to be plain white. Any ideas please. I have looked to hire/borrow but not having any luck. Also would be better if all match but not essential. Thanks everyone

Michael Dark florists do lovely tin ones - they're the same one as John Lewis use in some of their flower deliveries that come with a jug.

These are £5.99 but discounted if you buy 6 or more. They do have white, but it's a bit more expensive. I have cream and it's not dark cream by any means; very pale.
Also not sure where you are in the country but if you can get yourself to the Potteries (Stoke on Trent) for a day out, then we have lots of outlet shops here which sell plain "whiteware" (which is basically the crockery which they have decided is seconds before even putting patterns on) for next to nothing. The portmeirion factory shop sells tons of whiteware - racks and racks of it. I got large plain white dinner plates, £2 each, buy one get one free. I know they always have jugs there too. If you can plan a visit, it would probably pay off!0 -
ooh thanks for the links I really appreciate that. We live in Yorkshire but my mum in law lives near Burton on Trent so a visit to the potteries is always on the cards, thanks for that. I could also add a few decorations with porcelaine paints if the couple like the ideas. Many thanksNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

missy-moo are the pottery shops all close together or not, I get the impression the mal etc are all part of a big centre. Or are they individually placed around the town?Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

No, they are scattered as they are all attached to the respective pottery factories. However they are not a million miles apart, and there are several you wouldn't want to bother with really.
Portmeirion is well worth it as their stuff is so heavily discounted. I got some xmas pressies in there last year - things like some beautiful pure linen teatowels, RRP £15, reduced to £3 and so on. Portmeirion is in Stoke itself (there is more than one Portmeirion shop in Stoke-on-Trent, but the biggest, cheapest one is in Stoke on London Road and it's always really quiet in there apart from the occasional coach) and then there is Royal Doulton outlet as well, which is by no means as cheap but if you are coming that far and like that sort of thing (more fancy stuff, figures, cut glass, etc) then that is also worth a look. Thats in a place called Festival Park which is essentially a business park, so again it's always very quiet.
There is a portmeirion outlet in a lovely place called Trentham Village (which has some gorgeous shops and the gardens are well worth a trip) but it is ANTI MSE and you will part with lots of cash unless you are very restrained! It is a factory shop, but they only have a fraction of the stuff that the main factory has.
Burton is about 30 mins max from Stoke, at a guess??
Hope you find what you are looking for! Let us know!0 -
Ikea have them I've been myself today and seen quite a few various sizes and good prices too we got the little ones just 99p each
4th December 2010 - The day I married my best friend, all that's left to do now is live happily ever after :heartpuls0 -
Thats great thanks for that, looks like a trip to Ikea before Stoke as there is a big difference in distance
