    loan £140 £2.5000 145% apr (obscene i know!)

Just wanted to bump this up the board for you, that 145% interest rate is obscene, hoping someone on here surely must know a way to get that sorted, unfortunately that person is not me! It's with provident that's right? Do your repayments even cover the interest?

yeah, as soon as you get loan the full amount of interest is added on and you make a weekly payment for 52 weeks to pay of the whole thing,

  • Hi Cattie,

Maybe you can join a local Credit Union, basically I think it works something like this you save with them for a while and they lend you at a cheap rate, if you need to borrow (hence you can avoid the loan sharks)

Could you borrow off family to pay back the provident loan, as you would then save on that high interest rate.

    I wish you well.

we are on key meters for gas and electric as it is easier for us
my car broke down so i got rid of it!!!
take the healthy option and walk to and from work (not loosing any weight though!)
don't drink tea and coffee and my lunches at work are made up from things from shopping.
    thankyou everyone.
also my credit rating is "very poor" so cant transfer any balances hence the 145% loan!

    Hi Cattie,

    Sky needs to go.

4 months of £44 for sky will pay of your Provident loan.

Once it's gone you won't even miss it (there is plenty of films, footie and other crap to watch on the free channels;) )

when the debts are gone, the sky can come back.

Is it possible to lower the package but keep the sport ???

There is plenty of sport on BBC / ITV etc etc.

It's a question of priorities pay of debts or watch sky.

If it was me with you OH spending 10% of his income on sky I would have to be very very firm and downgrade to the cheapest package I could. it's just not feasible on those wages.
